With the Crisis health care, a lot of Projects construction Have Had Review Their planning and To find solutions Resume. Real Tool Collaborative help At the Decision Integrating intelligence Artificial, Space maker Is Already Adopted By Some majors of the BTP French And This Many Interests, Particular in the Context Current. Explanations with Havard Haukeland, one of them of the three co-co-Founders This Startup Norwegian.
ConstructionCayola : Can We Explain The Principle Spacemaker ?
Havard Haukeland : Before founding with My Two Related Spacemaker, I’ve Worked In So architect on planning Projects Residential and Buildings for use Mixed In Area Urban. Noting that the Issues Contemporary In building material Involve The multiplication of Projects complex Need Build More Quickly Buildings At the Time Resistant And Resilient We Have Launched, In 2016, Spacemaker. Integrating intelligence Artificial, This the primary purpose of the latter is to Allow To Different Actors one of the Project (Promoters Real estate, Architects, Offices studies, Communitiesetc.) to interact on one Same Tool, In Taking In Account All The Constraints And Expectations, to help Decisions And Optimize Design In Consequence. More Specifically, User Spacemaker Can Is Use The Function Design Generative Integrated The Software Is leave one of the Model Existing, But Can Also Download proposals. Thanks To intelligence Artificial millions of people Possibilities Design Are Generated Among Which User Chooses Those That are interested in him The most. Then, User Can Refine way Iterative These Proposals In Using The Features design and design analysis For Finally come up with design plans Detailed Best Options Possible. Yes Then In Important His Own Proposal User Can Also refine it iteratively. In both Case, It Realize More Quickly Its studies Feasibility And pre-project in a Only and unique ToolContinuously. In Holding Account As soon the first phases of its Project multiples Criteria Such that the Brightness The View, noise Yes The Number apartments to mention that they, User Is In Measure optimize The Potential construction Also Ok In matter of Density than many Quality Housing

Carl Christensen (Technical Director), Havard Haukeland directeur directeur (CEO)and Anders Kvale (President) are the three founders of Spacemaker. I’M DR.

The construction sector is also impacted by the Health Crisis linked to Coronavirus, do you think that artificial intelligence can help accelerate the recovery of activity?
Undoubtedly. With confinement, many people have had to rethink their ways of working, starting with the place, en tele-working rather than moving to the office. And, all the advantage of Spacemaker is that it works with the cloud and you can access it no matter where you are. In other words, many professionals can quite work at the same time on our platform even if they are based in different cities or countries. In the current context, this shows a definite interest in ensuring professional collaboration. Moreover,we know that the multiplication of different en actors mobilized on the same project is inevitable and impacts the duration of implementation of the project itself except when the exchanges take place as soon as possible of the planning. For example, in Norway,as part of a residential project, thanks to Spacemaker, partners told us that they had reduced the construction time of the building, which would have taken eighteen months in normal times, to six months. And, for good reason, they took the time to consider all the problems and complexities they might encounter as the project progressed, upstream, and came up with a proposal that meets the expectations of the client and the municipality,in accordance with the PLU. A precise planning work that has saved time on the realization.

In your opinion, is the sector in France sufficiently open to artificial intelligence?
Already, it should be noted that housing needs are very high in Paris and that, therefore, an urgent response in terms of construction is expected. As mentioned en above, the use of artificial intelligence in the sector can help to design faster and also more sustainably while maximizing the comfort of housing. Almost five years ago, I am not sure that the industry was prepared to soak up new technologies and put them at the service of construction. Today,we know that many companies are ready for these technologies and, moreover, these are also, now, available.. In France, we have seen a massive interest, from large groups, for such technologies, notably Bouygues and Vinci.

How do you imagine the city of tomorrow?
By 2050, the world will welcome about 10 billion people, or nearly 2 billion more people. . Virtually the majority of them are going to want to live and work in the city. The density of cities is therefore increasing. That’s why, if we want to manage this development in a sustainable way and gather all the criteria to build buildings with better energy efficiency, we need to rethink the layout, the design of our cities.. The challenge is certainly a rapid development but also the creation of pleasant living spaces. It is important to design qualitative urban projects that take into account problems encountered in the city such as noise pollution, urban heat islands or improved light. And, I am convinced that new technologies will play a central role, in the coming years,to rethink our cities. The trades have also evolved with the complexity of the projects. Architects, urban planners and developers spend even more time doing calculations, it’s essential. To answer your question, I do not really know what the cities of tomorrow will look like, but it is certain that collaborative software is an essential part of the evolution of the construction industry.
