The Paris Public Hospital Assistance (AP-HP) and Bayer have signed a “partnership framework agreement to strengthen their collaboration in clinical research and innovative projects using artificial intelligence” (AI), the German laboratory announced in a statement on 29 June.
Its objectives include “improving the role of AP-HP and its professionals in Bayer’s development programmes, optimising the feasibility and contracting process prior to the implementation of new clinical trials, developing and sharing common activity and performance indicators related to entrusted clinical trials, and establishing collaborations using complementary skills and resources in the context of AI projects” Bayer said.
“We see this as a chance to reveal the potential of data repositories from care or research, thanks to clinical expertise coupled with AI tools,” said Florence Favrel-Feuillade, DIRECTOR of Clinical Research and Innovation at AP-HP, referring to the institution’s Health Data Warehouse (EDS).
This agreement is expected to last three years. No financial details were released.
