A minimum of interactions for maximum result. “We are bombarded with notifications, stimuli and expectations that we all have to manage in one way or another,” recall Joel van Bodegraven and Chris Duffey. “AI can solve this problem by doing the work for us. Think of delineated tasks that can be easily outsourced. Challenge yourself to solve important user problems with minimal intervention on their part.”
Inspire confidence. “It is important to gain the trust of the user by being transparent about what we know about him, and how we use this information. If possible, the user should have control and be able to change their data if necessary. »
Humanize experiences. “Google’s recent studies of how people interact with Google Home have brought out one thing. Users interact with the assistant as if it were a human being. For example, they will add “thank you” or “sorry” after a voice command. Individuals identify more with their device if it is represented by a character. »
Reduce choices. Yes, the user should be given less choice. “The current world, which is very efficient and too noisy, leaves very little time for users to be in the moment,” say Joel van Bodegraven and Chris Duffey. “Reduce possible choices by removing unnecessary proposals. The user will feel more space and therefore more freedom, and this may even allow to reveal things that we would not have thought of. »
